About the Fundraiser
What is the Fundraiser?
The Football Booster Club is raising funds to replace the weight racks and benches in our weight room, a crucial upgrade for our McCallum Athletics department.
Newer, space-efficient equipment will enable all McCallum athletes to train more effectively and reach their full potential.
What are we buying?
New-to-us racks and benches are being purchased to increase workout stations. This allows more athletes to train at the same time.
Where are we buying?
PURE Fitness Innovations specializes in refurbishing commercial-grade fitness equipment in Peoria, IL. We will purchase the weight racks previously used at the University of Alabama. They will arrive at Mac in our beautiful blue and white colors.
When are we buying?
We will raise funds until November 8, 2024, and purchase by December. Those who donate at the Squire ($250) level or higher by November 8 can have their name displayed on a commemorative plaque in the McCallum field house.
What happens to the current equipment?
The current racks and benches will be donated to Lamar Middle School.

We have secured just over $8,000 for the weight equipment through all the efforts. The total amount needed to purchase the racks and benches is $35,050.

The weight room is available to all McCallum athletes. Nearly every athletic program at McCallum regularly uses this facility.
Increases Capacity
The weight room currently has single-side racks, which limits usage. Replacing the single-sided racks with double-sided racks increases capacity by 33%.
Benefits Future Athletes
The weight room is used during the summer Strength and Conditioning camp open to middle school students.

The current weight room holds 15 single-sided racks.

The refurbished double-sided racks will be placed in two rows of 5 in the center of the room.
Double-sided racks are space-efficient, allowing two athletes to use the same station. This improves our athletes’ experience, allowing more athletes to work out simultaneously.

More Weights
Increasing rack capacity also means more weights are needed to load on the barbells. Funds donated that exceed the current initiative will be used to buy more plates.
Turf
Indoor Turf
Turf installed on the fieldhouse floor has been a wish-list item for years. McCallum has no indoor practice space for those days when the heat is too much or during inclement weather. The turf would provide a proper indoor practice space for football, soccer, and baseball teams.
